The Innovation Engineer I is an entry-level technical position within Seaboard Foods’ Digital Innovation Team, designed for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to build expertise at the intersection of technology and business. This role offers hands-on experience supporting digital innovation projects, with a focus on learning, developing prototypes, and contributing to small and medium-sized automation, AI, and rapid application development initiatives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to learn requirements, understand business needs, and help translate them into practical prototypes and solutions.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of proofs of concept, pilots, and solutions focused on automation, workflow optimization, and rapid application development for small to medium-sized projects.
  • Participate in technical assessments, solution ideation, and user feedback sessions, continuously growing technical and business knowledge.
  • Learn and apply low-code/no-code tools, RPA platforms, AI frameworks, and other relevant technologies to accelerate solution delivery.
  • Document solutions, communicate technical concepts in accessible terms, and ensure alignment with business and project goals.
  • Support a culture of collaboration, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the innovation team and across business partners.
  • Seek guidance from senior team members and adopt best practices in solution development and project delivery.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
  • Awareness of technical and business concepts, gained through education or prior experience in roles such as engineer, developer, or analyst.
  • Demonstrated willingness and motivation to learn new technologies and business practices quickly.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively in a business context.
  • Experience or coursework related to process improvement, digital transformation, or prototype development is a plus.

  • The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
