Payment Services Manager

Position Summary:
The Payment Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of debit and credit card processing, ATM fleet management, fraud monitoring, ACH, wire transfers, mobile deposits, and shared branching. This role ensures the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant payment services while leading a team and managing vendor relationships. The manager plays a critical role in risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and maintaining service excellence.
We’re seeking a candidate who understands the fundamentals of payment operations and consistently demonstrates initiative. Ideally, this individual will have a proactive mindset, excel in time management, and willingly step in to support the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Payment Services staff, including coordinators and fraud specialists.
- Serve as subject matter expert and escalation point for complex transactions and member issues.
- Manage daily electronic payments, wire transfers, mobile deposits, and digital wallet processes.
- Ensure compliance with EFT, NACHA, BSA, OFAC, and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee reconciliation of new account payments, return deposit items, and general ledger closings.
- Maintain and update department procedures; prepare audit reports and conduct business continuity testing.
- Monitor fraud trends and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Support budget development and monitor departmental performance metrics.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance management for staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–8 years of experience in payment services operations.
- Proven supervisory experience with a focus on team development and performance.
- Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables); proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of Wisdom and Correlation systems preferred.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
Summary of Physical Demands:
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to convey detailed or important instructions and ideas accurately, audibly and quickly; hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information; use hands to perform such tasks a computer typing, file maintenance, using telephones, ten key adding machines and related office equipment; regular and frequent movement requiring use of hands, writes, arms, fingers; visual acuity required to prepare, read, and inspect documents and interpret information on a PC screen. This is primarily sedentary office work with occasional physical activity requiring lifting of small boxes/files. Ability to sit for long periods.
