SUMMARY/PURPOSE

The Senior Director of IT, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, leads our company’s technology development, strategy, and vision. The Senior Director of IT’s responsibilities include technology and research, making collaborative executive decisions on the company’s technological requirements, and implementing strategies to ensure that the technological resources meet the company’s short and long-term needs. Our ideal candidates are visionaries with a track record of technological innovation and a deep understanding of the current and emerging technologies. Ultimately, the role of the Senior Director of IT is to establish a technological vision for the organization and lead the company’s technological development that meets the needs of our students, employees, enables productivity, and aligns with our company’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 Setting a vision for how technology will be used in the company

  • Strong people leader and motivator; proactive and growth mindset

  • Create timelines for the development and deployment of all technological services

  • Proven experience as a Director of IT or similar leadership role
  • Knowledge of technological trends to build strategy

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position oversees our Director of IT. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office and school environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a largely sedentary position, requiring the ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time. Extensive use of computer, keyboard and mouse. Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer; to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at conversational levels and on the telephone; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in person and on the telephone; physical agility to lift up to 10 pounds to waist height; and to bend, stoop, walk and reach overhead.

POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). It is not eligible for overtime pay. Expected hours of the position are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Nights and weekends may be required to meet the expectations of the job. 

TRAVEL

No travel is expected. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field 
  • Proven experience as a Director of IT or similar leadership role

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • MBA or other relevant graduate degree
