Maintenance Manager - LB na undefined

SUMMARY:

This position will plan, direct, and coordinate the work activities of the Maintenance Department.  Responsible for day-to-day operations of the maintenance area, plant equipment, and parts room. Position will provide support and coverage at plant when needed.  

It is expected for the Maintenance Manager to work in direct partnership with the 24-hour team to support food/worker safety, sanitation, quality, and efficiency (SSQE) and to effectively plan for and manage seasonal operational demands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:        

• Provide direct supervision, technical guidance, administrative management, and maintenance leadership to the department.
• Manage plant equipment and maintenance personnel to ensure reliable and efficient operation. Monitor and analyze maintenance costs, tracking variances and identifying opportunities for cost improvement.
• Provide strategic input and technical support for capital projects in collaboration with the Engineering Department.
• Develop and manage project plans and budgets for maintenance and capital initiatives.
• Plan and adjust maintenance operations and staffing levels to support seasonal production schedules and demand fluctuations.
• Establish schedules and assignments for maintenance activities based on operational priorities.
• Coach and develop maintenance team members; identify skill gaps and create training plans.
• Interview, hire, promote, and, when necessary, recommend disciplinary or termination actions.
• Track and report maintenance-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Foster a well-trained, motivated, and safety-conscious maintenance staff.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members.
• Support site capital planning and spending to reduce business and safety risks while improving cost efficiency and reliability.
• Provide support for the facility and equipment needs including capital and major repairs.
• Support preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
• Support plant environmental safety programs to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.
• Using other maintenance disciplines in the development and application of root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of equipment and processes. 
• Must follow all GMPs, SOPs and maintain a current understanding of the regulation and requirements of the industry and applicable government agencies; including but not limited to: FSAM, MSD, and State Health Department.
• Active Member of the Crisis Management team for facilities and Food Safety Teams.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, or other technical field with 8 years managerial experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting, HVAC skills, fabricating, TIG and MIG welding  
• Demonstrated knowledge of motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, programmable controllers, and motor control electrical trouble shooting skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with others orally or in writing 
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly 
• Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures
• Ability to organize and direct oneself and effectively supervise others
