Introduction to the Job
We are seeking a talented and innovative Deep Learning and MLOps engineer to become part of our dynamic team. In this hybrid role, you will blend expertise in both algorithms and infrastructure to create advanced solutions for e-beam inspection and metrology.
Planning is primarily self-directed, with limited guidance from a Lead Engineer.
Additionally, the position includes designing, developing, testing, and integrating software for ASML machines and applications. This involves implementing analytics, data, control, and algorithm solutions to help customers achieve optimal manufacturing performance.
Role and responsibilities
Research new deep learning (DL) algorithms for computer vision
Productize the algorithms for performance, speed, and robustness
Develop infrastructure to support the deployment of the algorithms at customer sites
Conduct research and feasibility studies to support engineering projects and validate proposed solutions.
Develop and refine design requirements, documenting specifications and ensuring traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare high-level and detailed designs following System Engineering Guidelines, considering factors such as manufacturing, logistics, cost, and market constraints.
Review product designs, contribute to testing processes, execute qualification tests, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Collaborate with team members to estimate project efforts, solve problems, and keep technical expertise up to date while adhering to safety policies.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
Proficiency in DL algorithms (CNN and VLM-based) for computer vision applications
Experience in MLOps technologies (e.g., MLflow, PyTorch, Kubernetes)
Skills
To thrive in this job, you’ll need the following skills:
Expertise in deep learning algorithms
Practical experience with MLOps
Proficient in Python
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to propose multiple design solutions in environments with technical uncertainties.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and suppliers
Hands-on experience with software design, development, testing, and integration
Familiarity with requirements analysis, feasibility studies, and system engineering guidelines
Effective written documentation and verbal communication
Consistent adherence to safety and environmental guidelines
Dedication to continually learning emerging technologies and approaches
Other information
This position is located on-site in San Jose, CA. It requires onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week).
Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus.
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The current base annual salary range for this role is currently:
Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
The Company offers employees and their families, medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are able to participate in the Company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
