Overview

Salem New York is seeking an experienced Talk Show Producer for our afternoon drive host, Kevin McCullough and his shows, ‘That Kevin Show’ on AM 570 & 102.3FM The Mission/WMCA syndicated on the Salem Radio Network and, ‘Radio Night LIVE’ on AM 970 The Answer/WNYM.  We are seeking an extremely organized person with a rolodex of political and media contacts – and is comfortable running a digital board. 

Responsibilities

• Booking guests on daily basis for both programs – with a ‘can do’ attitude to also book big figures in the political and media world, and won’t accept ‘No’ for an answer
• Sending out daily show rundown to media outlets in an effort to get press for the programs
• Searching for audio excerpts from newsmakers and playing cuts to air during show
• Recording segments – and mixing them down ready for air, and loading into WideOrbit automation
• Running board for pre-recorded and live show segments
• Keeping a meticulous and organized schedule and able to arrive early to set up studio – including Comrex Access connections, Microsoft Teams meeting connections, and phones
• Comfortable interacting with the host on air as needed
• Posting podcasts of the programs and archiving past segments for ‘Best Of’ shows
• Managing social media for programs, including tagging guests and creating posts that will engage listeners
• Recording and production of other company required programs for Kevin McCullough, such as assisting with his national shows, company features such as working with the Salem News Channel
• Other duties as required depending on station needs, such as running the board for live and pre-recorded shows, engineering live sports broadcasts and may include occasional fill-ins for Master Control

Qualifications

Audio editing experience needed, knowledge of Adobe Audition and Audacity software a plus

Knowledge of talk show industry and practices.
