Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to lead cloud engineering efforts supporting the development, automation, and optimization of AWS-based infrastructure for critical platform operations. This includes driving cloud automation, enhancing infrastructure performance, improving security, and ensuring reliable delivery of platform services across multiple environments. The role blends hands-on technical work with architecture-aligned planning, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Engineering: Develop and automate AWS infrastructure components, including account management, landing zones, networking, and environment provisioning.
- Platform Automation: Build and enhance automated pipelines for infrastructure as code, configuration management, and environment setup.
- Security & Compliance: Contribute to cloud security enhancements, guardrails, and best practices to protect platform operations.
- Performance & Reliability: Monitor system health, track key performance metrics, and implement improvements for scalability and stability.
- Technical Leadership: Provide expertise in cloud architecture, tooling, and automation practices, guiding teams toward effective infrastructure solutions.
- Requirements Translation: Convert application and platform needs into technical requirements and practical cloud solutions.
- Research & Innovation: Evaluate tools, frameworks, and emerging technologies to refine cloud strategy and automation capabilities.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce cloud spend while maintaining performance and reliability.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and product partners to plan enhancements and drive platform-level improvements.
- Production Readiness: Support production release cycles, maintain operational readiness, and assist with limited on-call responsibilities.
- Community Contribution: Participate in engineering knowledge-sharing groups and contribute to best practices and standards for platform engineering.
- Roadmap Input: Review technical roadmaps, influence decisions for long-term infrastructure direction, and support intake for platform enhancements.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure engineering and automation.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools and cloud-native architectural patterns.
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable, secure, and resilient cloud environments.
- Proficiency in automating network configuration, account structures, and cloud resource provisioning.
- Ability to analyze system performance, monitor platform metrics, and recommend improvements.
- Experience contributing to cloud cost optimization initiatives.
- Familiarity with cloud security practices and enterprise-level guardrails.
- Strong collaboration skills to work across engineering, architecture, and product teams.
- Ability to evaluate new technologies, support platform strategy, and influence technical direction.
- Experience participating in production deployments and supporting cloud operations.
