SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group, an international consulting and engineering group, a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.
Context:The ALTO project is a major infrastructure initiative in Canadian history, aimed at developing over 1,000 km of new passenger rail service between major urban centers, including Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City.
Missions/Main Duties:- Manages the BIM object library for the project, ensuring its structure, quality, and compliance with Cadence standards.
- Creates and validates BIM objects according to the requirements of the discipline teams and project specifications.
- Establishes quality control processes for objects used in project models.
- Ensures traceability and documentation of objects within the project management systems.
- Collaborates with design teams to identify specific object needs and guarantee their availability.
- Integrates feedback to continuously improve the library throughout the project.
- Participates in the automation of object management using scripts or dedicated tools.
- Trains teams in proper use of the library and best modeling practices.
Education:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical), Architecture, or Construction Management. Training or certification in BIM.
Years of Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience with BIM object libraries or BIM modeling in the construction or engineering sector.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, or equivalent).
- Experience in the creation, management, structuring, and quality control of BIM objects.
- Good knowledge of BIM standards (naming protocols, BEP, client standards, etc.).
- Skills in automation/scripting (Dynamo, Revit scripts, or similar tools) are considered an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in French and English.*
