Position Summary:The Trade Marketing Manager is responsible for developing strong customer relationships by providing category solutions based on business trends, industry trends and category management expertise. This role will also work on developing insightful and actionable reporting, analysis and selling story presentations based on key category trends. The Trade Marketing Manager will lead the development and process of customer category line reviews and be the expert in the customer’s category and key strategic leader to assist with the development of their strategies. As well as to be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive sales and brand visibility with top customers supporting the point of sale.
Responsibilities:Universal Accountabilities:
- Category / Industry Expert.
- Leads assessment, analysis, & insight generation.
- Direct account responsibility with regular ongoing customer face-to-face meetings.
- Owns category management / analytics.
- Energizer customer insulation.
- Acts as a liaison between Marketing and Sales
Specific Accountabilities:
- Category leader with customer to help develop category strategy based on insights and market trends
- Develops partnership relationships (Category Captaincy)
- Presentation development
- Facilitation of planning process – internal and external
- Owns customer category line review process
- Represents category at broader cross-functional team meetings
- Interfaces with other departments (Sales, Sales Planning, Shopper Activation, Marketing, Finance)
- Leads planogram development
- Conducts competitive analysis that identifies competitor strategies, strengths and weaknesses.
- Creating channel-specific visibility, managing budget for Trade Marketing activities and supporting sales teams with tailor made materials as displays, and POP.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 to 4 years customer facing Sales and/or Category Management experience.
- BA/BS required, Marketing/Business Administration.
- High level of English.
- Outstanding written & verbal communication skills.
- Experienced in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Power Point, Access).
- Developing & delivering compelling selling stories / presentations.
- Relationship building.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Syndicated Data (AC Nielsen or IRI).
- Proficiency in JDA space planning software.
- Target MerchIQ, IKS, Shopper Insights.
- Loyalty card / Shopper data analysis.
- Project Management / Prioritization.
Working Relationships:
- Customer (Buyer, Senior Buyer, Category Management, etc) - Primary.
- Sales, Sales Planning, Brand Marketing.
Working Environment
- Travel Requirements (up to 10%).
