Occupation Scheduler

12 Month Fixed-Term Position

V/Line’s purpose is to connect Victorians through safe, reliable, and accessible transport. We believe in giving all Victorians opportunities through travel and transport – connecting them to jobs, education, family and friends, services, tourism and trade.

Positioned within our Projects group and working in a close-knit team, the remit of the Occupation Scheduler is to ensure the smooth planning and coordination of planned occupations.

The Occupation Scheduler liaises with both internal and external stakeholders to make sure all checkpoints and targets are met to be able to officially schedule the rail occupation.

About the role

Coordinate and review closure requests to ensure they are clear, comprehensive, and support a well-executed closure plan.

Assist in the planning and scheduling of closure events from T-52 to T-12, working closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Identify risks, understand wider network and event impacts, and ensure all elements required for a successful closure are incorporated into the plan.

Provide expert guidance on disruptive closure needs and access requirements, progressing requests through formal review channels while supporting project projections and smooth handover to Occupation Coordinators.

Proactively identify opportunities to optimise work during closures and enhance planning outcomes for future events.
