Position - Mechanical Maintainer (must have Fitter Qualifications - to be eligible)
Location - Mason rd Kwinana
Roster - 12 hour Days only 4 Days On /5 Days Off, 3 Days On / 2 Days Off ( Weekends & Public Holidays Off)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintainer to join the Maintenance team based at our Kwinana Pigment Plant, approx. 35-minute drive south of Perth on a Permanent full-time basis!
Our Mechanical Maintainers play a vital role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical plant and equipment across our Pigment Plant. This position involves both preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maintain optimal plant performance and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Perform both scheduled and reactive maintenance on a wide range of plant equipment.
Carry out the removal, installation, maintenance, and overhaul of rotating equipment, pumps, piping systems, compressors, heat exchangers, steam equipment, and pressure vessels.
Identify and report equipment defects, and recommend improvements to existing systems, methods, and procedures.
Take a proactive approach to preventive maintenance, and ensure all breakdown repairs are completed to a high standard of workmanship.
Accurately complete all maintenance documentation to ensure detailed and reliable data is recorded in Tronox’s Maintenance Systems.
Foster a strong safety culture through active participation in hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident reporting.
Communicate effectively and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team environment.
Assist plant operators as required, including preparing and isolating equipment for maintenance.
Record process information and identify opportunities to enhance equipment performance and plant efficiency.
About you
You are a qualified Mechanical Fitter with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and high-quality workmanship. You take pride in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues efficiently and thrive in a fast-paced process or industrial plant environment.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Mechanical Trade Certificate – Fitting (essential)
Full and unrestricted working rights in Australia (essential)
Minimum 3 years’ experience - Post apprenticeship in a Mechanical Maintainer role within complex fixed plant environment (essential)
Experience working in chemical, refinery or mining industries (highly desirable)
Proven experience maintaining process plant equipment such as, Rotating Equipment, Static/Fixed Plant, Handling Equipment, Utility & Support Systems
Demonstrated ability in fault finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving on complex plant equipment
A team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently when required
Strong decision-making skills and a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
A genuine commitment to safety, hazard identification, and risk management
Current unrestricted Driver’s Licence
Willingness to work shift rosters as required
