About Cadia


Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method. 


We acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, traditional custodians of the land surrounding Cadia, and proudly run an Indigenous Buddy Program to enrich the workplace experience our Indigenous employees. As a residential (drive-in / drive-out) mine, Cadia values community deeply, offering both financial and in-kind support to organizations across Blayney, Cabonne, and Orange townships. Who we're looking for

 

Reporting to the UG Electrical Supervisor, you will enjoy working in a close-knit team and assist in the maintenance & development of assets within the Cadia East UG Mine and ancillary infrastructure.

 

Key deliverables of this role include, but not limited to:

 

  • Ensuring all critical issues are highlighted and communicated to the Electrical Supervisor to ensure they are captured in the next available maintenance plan.
  • Capture and raise issues within their respective areas using the tools and systems provided e.g. work notifications, hazard cards.
  • Ensure on the completion of all tasks that all parts, materials, tools etc. are removed and the area is handed back for operation in a safe and clean state.
  • Building and maintaining a positive, productive team culture that promotes a team of high achieving and skilled Technicians.
  • Operating IT with personnel in work platform installing cables for development infrastructure
  • Assisting electricians with installation tasks for development infrastructure

 

As the ideal candidate, you will be a team player with excellent work ethics and a can do attitude. You will appreciate being part of a collaborative team and foster continuous improvement through your excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. 

In addition, you will also ideally have:

 

  • Behaviour consistent with Newmont values
  • Medium level computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • ITC, C2, Bobcat & JCB/Merlo tickets and a HR Licence will be highly desirable.

 

Please note: This is a full-time permanent role, based at our Cadia operation in NSW. You will be required to work a 7 days on/7 off/7 nights on/7 off roster (12-hours per day, Thursday – Wednesday). This is a residential role only (no FIFO/DIDO).
