About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Controls Professional to support solar construction projects with a focus on mechanical and electrical scopes. This mid-level role is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in project controls and a passion for renewable energy. You will play a key role in ensuring project performance through effective cost tracking, reporting, and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and update project budgets and forecasts using tools such as MS, Excel and Foundation (Company owned ERP system).
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Track and analyze project costs, budgets, and forecasts, support monthly cost reporting and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure alignment with project timelines and deliverables.
- Support change management processes, including tracking change orders and assessing cost and budget impacts.
- Assist in the preparation of client-facing reports and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, procedures, and contractual requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in project controls, preferably in solar or renewable energy construction.
- Proficiency in scheduling and cost control software (Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, Power BI, etc.).
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical scopes of work in solar projects (e.g., racking, modules, inverters, cabling).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with utility-scale solar projects.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
- Exposure to construction field operations and project execution.
