We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Buyer to join our purchasing team. This role oversees the end-to-end procurement function, ensuring the sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of materials and services essential to operations. The Buyer will also play a key role in supporting our e-commerce operations by ensuring product availability, maintaining supplier data accuracy across digital platforms, and optimizing fulfillment processes.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in procurement best practices, vendor management, and e-commerce supply chain operations, with excellent communication and leadership skills. This is an on-site role that requires strong cross-functional collaboration with production, logistics, and digital commerce teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and strengthen supply chain efficiency.
- Source and procure raw materials, equipment, supplies, and contracted services to support operations and online fulfillment.
- Coordinate purchasing activities to support e-commerce order fulfillment, inventory accuracy, and SKU management across online platforms.
- Negotiate vendor agreements and contracts, securing favorable terms and long-term cost savings.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews, and set metrics.
- Collaborate with e-commerce and marketing to ensure seamless product launches, accurate online listings, and consistent stock availability.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage replenishment, and optimize stock control procedures for both warehouse and online channels.
- Utilize procurement/MRP/ERP systems to forecast demand, schedule orders, and reduce shortages.
- Leverage e-commerce analytics and ERP integrations (NetSuite, to forecast digital sales trends and align purchasing decisions.
- Conduct market research to stay informed on trends, pricing, and supplier opportunities.
- Review and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and vendor performance.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, ethical sourcing standards, and applicable regulations.
- Train and support junior team members, promoting best practices in procurement and e-commerce coordination.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field strongly preferred (high school diploma required).
- 5–7 years of procurement or purchasing experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, vendor relations, and e-commerce inventory or fulfillment processes.
- Proficiency with procurement and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle EBS, SAP, or similar); experience with e-commerce platforms or ERP integrations (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, or Amazon Seller Central) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive cost savings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams and with suppliers.
- Ability to work independently and lead within a deadline-driven environment.
- On-site role requiring regular attendance and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Occasional collaboration with e-commerce and fulfillment teams may require schedule flexibility during online product launches or seasonal campaigns.
- Flexible scheduling may be needed for communication with international suppliers.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
