POSITION TITLE
Adjunct Medical Assistant Instructor
APPOINTMENT
Appointed by the Chancellor of the College upon recommendation of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
Adjunct instructors may be assigned classes at any of the River Parishes Community College campuses (Gonzales, Reserve, Plaquemine, Donaldsonville and St. Charles), as determined by student need and institutional demand. Teaching needs may include face-to-face/online and/or evening classes.
Position Duties
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered or Practical Nurse with current, unencumbered license with the Louisiana State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners or Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Experience performing direct patient care within the last four (4) years.
- Ability to travel to clinical locations.
- Satisfactory background check – an offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check.
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
The pay for the position is contingent upon the hours and classes assigned. Adjunct instructors are currently paid at the rate of $800 per credit hour.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, deliver, revise, and teach medical assistant courses.
- Meet College deadlines for attendance taking, grade submission, learning outcomes assessment reporting, and textbook adoptions.
- Consult with other College faculty and staff on issues relevant to student success.
- Monitor and document student performance.
