SUMMARY
Assist the accounting team in the day-to-day operations of the business office. The accounting clerk will be responsible for processing various business transactions in our accounting software related to vehicle sales, service, and third parties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Essential Duties include the following.
- Reconciles daily banking transactions.
- Posting financial transactions in timely and accurate manner in our software using debits and credits.
- Post accounting entries for vehicle sales, service, and parts.
- Compile and process vehicle titles and registration documents.
- Monitors activity of accounts for accuracy and corrects as necessary.
- Prepare general journal entries as necessary.
- Assists in the maintenance of company records.
- Assists in cashier’s office as scheduled including cash handling, and credit card processing.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.
- Available to work Saturdays and evenings as scheduled to meet business needs.
- Keeps current on all training requirements, such as GM training, Compliance training and other training as assigned by manager.
- Sets a good example by maintaining a healthy work demeanor and cooperating with other managers and fellow employees in a positive spirit of teamwork. Represents Puklich Chevrolet positively when out in the community.
MARGINAL DUTIES
Marginal Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Serves as back up to the Cashier
- Serves as back up to the Receptionist/Greeter

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as accounting and operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
