We're seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented professional to join Business Development team for Swiss Re's ILS Strategies group and help connect investors with these uncorrelated investment opportunities!
About the Role
As a Business Development Associate, you'll work alongside experienced team members to support Swiss Re's relationships with institutional investors worldwide. This position is based in London and offers exceptional growth opportunities and exposure to global markets while you develop your skills across our diverse product portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
• Support investor communications by helping prepare responses to questions, RFPs, and sales requests under guidance from senior team members
• Conduct and produce competitive analysis of the insurance linked securities market
• CRM tools to track investor data and communications effectively
• Gather research for competitor analysis and market landscape reports
• Help maintain Due Diligence Questionnaires and reporting databases with regular updates
• Provide support on research projects and contribute to periodic publications on the ILS market and Swiss Re's activities
• Assist with marketing materials, presentations, and event coordination.
• Contribute to website maintenance for capital raising initiatives
About the Team
Our team is dedicated to developing liquid, transparent, and tradable insurance-linked risk products, leveraging our extensive re/insurance and capital markets expertise. The Business Development team serves as the vital connection between institutional investors (pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, insurers, asset managers) and Swiss Re. We specialize in creating partnerships that allow investors to benefit from Swiss Re's unparalleled underwriting expertise, experience, and access to the global (re)insurance market.
About You
We are seeking an indvidiaul who is eager to learn and grow in a collaborative environment; have attention to detail, organizational abilities, and analytical mindset; and who is ready for new challenges and excited about advancing their career in the dynamic world of alternative capital.
We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:
• Established work experience in investor relations, investment management, investment banking, consultancy, or related functions
• University degree (undergraduate or master's) preferably in economics, mathematics, engineering, finance, natural sciences, or other analytical fields
• Strong analytical capabilities with attention to detail and good organizational skills
• Clear communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
These are additional nice to haves:
• Knowledge of financial markets and investment products
• Familiarity with data analytics tools or basic programming concepts
• Creative thinking and design sensibilities for presentation materials
• Experience working in diverse teams or international environments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured way
• Enthusiasm for learning about insurance-linked securities or alternative investments
• Additional language skills beyond English
For London based role, the base salary range for this position is between GBP 50,000 and GBP 74,000 (for a full-time role). The specific salary offered considers:
• the requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role,
• the applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience.
