Position Summary

The Re-Work Lead collaborates with the Warehouse Manager to oversee all aspects of the inventory control of partial pallets used in the repackaging process of damaged finished goods. This includes process improvement, quality initiatives, and digital tracking systems. The position focuses on achieving optimum production efficiency to reduce loss and enhance productivity goals while maintaining the quality and integrity of food safety, handling, and sanitation standards.


 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Supervision:

  • Lead a small team of CBG and temporary employees during assigned shifts.
  • Coordinate daily team operations and workflow.
  • Adhere to and implement assigned schedule.
  • Maintain quality procedures and cleanliness to ensure compliance with GMP and FSMA standards.
  • Assist in establishing, maintaining, and enforcing safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Complete routine functions on the warehouse floor, including locating leaking and damaged finished goods.
  • Provide regular training and feedback to team members regarding performance.

Operations Management:

  • Build effective relationships with all internal and surrounding departments.
  • Maintain strong communication with all supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Control workflow to ensure maximum use of available capacity and effective use of labor, work hours, tools, and equipment.
  • Adjust schedules and resources as needed to meet changing conditions or production demands.
  • Utilize digital inventory systems (SAP and Data Collection) to optimize operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.

Equipment & Maintenance:

  • Coordinate general maintenance work on equipment (e.g., Zambelli, wrapping machinery).
  • Handle routine maintenance issues such as film changes, addressing jams, and product changeovers.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and managers for more complex maintenance needs.

Quality Control & Compliance:

  • Monitor control procedures and quality standards; help identify quality issues during rework by pulling samples, communicating with QC, and logging damage in correctly SAP.
  • Complete daily SAP/Data Collection transactions and spreadsheets as requested by leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory compliance and quality assurance.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality circles.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Prepare and submit reports using digital tools and platforms (SAP, Data Collection, and Excel).
  • Send email notifications to appropriate supervisors and management with various progress updates.
  • Complete daily logs, spreadsheets, material requests, rework, and project updates before designated times prior to the end of the shift.
  • Log every transaction in SAP to correctly identify loss.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment).
  • Food safety certification is preferred (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment).

Work Environment:

  • Primary work environment is a warehouse/distribution center.
  • May occasionally work in outdoor weather conditions for loading/receiving operations.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels from production and packaging equipment.
  • Potential exposure to standard food industry cleaning chemicals.
  • Temperature-controlled environments for certain products.

Physical Demands:

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk throughout the facility.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • May require prolonged periods of standing on concrete floors.
  • Regular movement throughout production and distribution areas.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work various shifts as needed, including occasional weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to work overtime during peak production periods.
  • Commitment to food safety and quality assurance practices.
