Position Summary
As a GI Reprocessing Senior Key Account Manager at STERIS, you are responsible for protecting and growing corporate accounts contractual revenue with a specific focus on the clinical aspects of the STERIS product line across procedural and reprocessing portfolios. You will serve as a sales project, clinical subject matter expert leader for developing infection prevention strategic business plans for Customer or future Customers. Your focus is on key objectives, strategies, tactics and corresponding action steps. This is done with the intent of influencing, disrupting and aligning key decision makers on the need to create, implement and enforce infection prevention strategies and protocols through a multitude of clinical pathways in constant focus of infection prevention and Customer compliance.
What you will do as a Senior Key Account Manager
- Partner with commercial team (Corporate Accounts, Region Sales, & Sales Enablement) members to identify, secure and grow high Customer base.
- Responsible for revenue growth across large IDN health systems, year over year revenue increase & contract retention, and successful contract closure.
- Leverage internal and external tools and resources, such as the Infection Prevention Assessment (IPA) tool, to educate targeted Customers and stakeholders on the causes, risks, costs, penalties, and exposure of HAIs/HACs.
- Build relationships throughout the decision-making hierarchy within the healthcare systems by providing guidance on strategic collaboration will have a measurable impact on infection prevention, patient safety, cost savings and outcomes.
- Develop, maintain, communicate, and manage the targeted Healthcare Systems Infection Prevention Business Plans.
- Partner and leverage key cross-functional team members, including but not limited to Sales, Service, Marketing, Clinical Education, Strategic Accounts, Finance, Legal, Compliance, R&D and Executive Management as needed to achieve the business objectives for their respective healthcare systems.
- Develop and deliver business reviews to ensure key infection prevention plan initiatives and financial commitments are being achieved, accomplished, and measured.
- Partner with corporate accounts and sales leaders with developing, implementing, and managing compliance of contracts within respective regional and local health systems.
- Manage and partner with clinical specialist(s) that support educating target Customers.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8 years of successful healthcare and medical sales experience
- Strong understanding of STERIS product portfolio; specific depth required pertaining to the clinical aspects of STERIS products
- Must be able to prospect and identify top IDN’s and partner with region sales teams as well as Corporate Accounts teams
- Ability to travel overnight up to 50% in a defined region
- Must be able to be compliant with hospital/customer credentialing requirements
- Preferred:
- 1 year of management experience
- Experience in GI Reprocessing
- Other:
- Strong analytical skills and proactive problem-solving skills are critical to success.
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships with all levels of decision makers to include Senior Vice President and C-suite decision makers.
- Possess business acumen for strategic thinking and tactical execution as it relates to Customer service, project prioritization, and funnel/territory management
- Must be flexible and perform a variety of complicated tasks (multitask) with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines.
- Position requires good interpersonal skills, clear and concise communication skills, and teamwork in dealing with people at all levels in the company.

Pay range for this opportunity is $140,000 - $158,000. This position is incentive plan eligible, at target earnings of $220,000 - $238,000.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
