JOB SUMMARY
The Technical Business Analyst II Supports Trellis Information Technology (IT) and business units in identifying technical solutions for business needs by analyzing processes, defining requirements, and coordinating with development teams, testers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation and system integration. This role involves creating diagrams, developing test cases, managing system changes, and providing user training. Evaluate existing workflows and identify areas for improvement and automation. Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures for business applications and tools. Maintain reporting and data processing capabilities in compliance with standards established by the Department of Education, third-party federal regulations, customer contract requirements and Trellis policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The position incumbent is expected to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities of the position with reasonable accommodation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document detailed business and technical requirements.
- Analyze current business processes and identify areas for improvement or automation.
- Analyzes information systems requirements or environment. Translate business needs into functional specifications and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with Information Technology to create and refine software solutions and processes.
- Designs or conducts analytical studies, cost-benefit analyses, and summarizes results.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure solutions align with business goals and technical standards.
- Facilitate meetings and workshops to drive consensus and clarify requirements.
- Support system design, configuration, and implementation efforts.
- Assist in the development and execution of test plans, including user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Analyze data to identify trends, support decision-making, and troubleshooting issues.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and other business intelligence tools.
- Provide training and support to end-users on new systems and processes.
- Monitor project progress and assist in managing timelines, risks, and deliverables.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance business operations.
- Mentors and develops other analysts. Coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent at Trellis.
- Develops and delivers training on technology solutions for internal and external business partners.
- Monitors performance of internal system functions and third-party products or applications to identify performance issues, maintain quality control, assess risks, and provide options for resolution when needed.
- Develops new procedures and processes regarding applications and software products.
- Creates and analyzes ad-hoc reports for business needs, performance measures, regulatory compliance, statistics, process improvements, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
- Participates in training and other learning opportunities to ensure compliance and expand knowledge of company, position, and process.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, technology or accounting. Six (6) years’ experience in the Student Loan Industry will substitute for the degree.
Experience
Required:
- Six (6) years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst working on project support, of which includes:
- Three (3) years’ experience in requirements management[LH1] [SP2] , system analysis, solution design & documentation, testing and quality assurance of technology related projects, and
- One (1) year of project management experience in leading medium to large projects
- Three (3) years’ experience working with legacy COBOL, CICS, DB2 projects as well as modern Java application projects.
- One year’s experience with Jira, Confluence, MS project, WinSQL, Visio etc. Project management and reporting tools.
Preferred:
- Two (2) years of experience with Student loan program, FFELP Collections, Claims, or Default Prevention.
- One (1) year of experience in using AI tools and technology in generating business requirements, UI screen designs/wireframes, generating test scripts, test automation etc.
- Knowledge of understanding COBOL as well as Java programs to analyze and write program specifications.

- Work may be conducted remotely or in an office with a small cubicle environment.
