In this position the primary duty is the performance of work requiring advance knowledge acquired during a four-year degree course of instruction; and requires the incumbent to consistently exercise discretion and judgment in applying their advanced knowledge. Under regular supervision of designated Program Manager, counsels and aids individuals and families requiring assistance dealing with substance use/misuse challenges, by performing the following duties for adolescent and young adult patients.
Position Logistics
- 34-hour work week (4-day work week Monday - Thursday)
- Position requires conducting evening groups up to twice a week resulting in a flex schedule. While actual hours may vary, a typical evening group ends at 6:30 pm.
- Open to hiring a CCII, CCIII, or CCIV. Level and compensation are commensurate with education and experience.
Education & Experience Requirements
- A Master’s degree in human service field is required and experience in performing the essential duties of the position for substance abuse populations is preferred. Licensure and certification is highly desired.
- Certified as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (ADC) through Addiction Professionals of South Carolina (APSC), or able to complete the certification process within the required timeframe.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains individualized treatment plans.
- Manages and monitors patient progress, identifies patient needs, and maintains all clinical records through independent work as well as treatment team engagement.
- Provides individual, family, group and crisis intervention counseling services, as well as coverage as needed.
- Provides case consultation and case management services to assure comprehensive quality care of a patient.
- Participates in regular clinical supervision.
- Provides assessments as needed.
