Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the IASC.
- Serve as a liaison between the Governing Board, Medical Staff, Anesthesia Providers, and Surgery Center Staff.
- Reports any pertinent activities and metrics to the Regulatory Bodies and Governing Board regularly.
- Plan and directs services provided by the facility.
- Ensures compliance with the ASC policies, procedures, and accreditation standards.
- Develops, monitors, and manages staffing levels, operating budgets, operational and capital budgets
- Leads purchasing and inventory management to stay within budget.
- Provides leadership, coaching, and development for staff members.
- Leads discussions and presentations during monthly operations.
- Focus on fostering clinical skill development, mentoring, and ensuring high standards of care.
- Fostering positive working relationships with all IRMC departments who interact with the IASC
- Closely monitor variations in the financial performance of IASC to avoid interruptions in cash flow.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Holds or delegates monthly staff meetings with staff ensuring the priorities and goals of IASC.
- Oversees the yearly staff evaluation process, ensuring goals and achievements have been attained.
- Participates or designates personnel to perform interviewing, hiring, and orientation of newly hired employees. Reviews progress with the orientee and preceptor during probationary period.
- Maintains personnel files and records.
- Provides or ensures the competency of staff members through educational and in servicing programs. Promotes the implementation of excellent customer relations.
- Ensures surgical programs and clinical services are in compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies. Works in conjunction with the Medical Director in the evaluation and development of existing and new services at the facility.
- Fosters positive public relations, marketing, and planning.
- Ensures oversight of the infection control program including all documentation, reporting, and surveillance projects. Participates in the infection control and quality meetings. Provides oversight of the medical staff review of the quality improvement program.
- Identifies and corrects quality care issues.
- Develops statistical indicators to use in evaluating the overall operations and quality care provided.
- Serves as a member of the Quality Improvement Committee.
- Manages the credentialing of the practitioners of the facility.
- Collaborates with the Medical Director in the review and revision of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations on a biannual basis.
- Collaborates with the Medical Director and serves as the liaison in problem areas with the medical staff. Promotes positive relationships between employees and practitioners.
- Attends administrative meetings with IRMC as a representative of IASC.
- Maintains membership in a professional association relevant to ambulatory surgery facilities and healthcare administration.
- Stays current in changes in the healthcare environment, such as reimbursement, legislative issues, and business law, and acts accordingly in the best interest of IAASC.
- Follows the facility’s professional conduct and dress code policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, Nursing, Business, or other related fields. (required)
- Master’s in healthcare administration (preferred)
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a top administrative or management position either in the ASC or a Hospital Surgical Services position.
- Clinical background required; cardiac experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and compliance in outpatient surgical settings.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, staffing, and strategic planning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients, and others.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Mobility to move about the facility to supervise employees and activities
- Office environment but frequent exposures to patient care areas.
