SUMMARY:           

The Count Room Supervisor is responsible for the accurate count and recording of all cash monies turned into the Casino Cage, in compliance with Nevada Gaming Control Internal Controls and Regulations.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Oversee and assist in the currency drop and count in compliance with established count times filed with Nevada Gaming Control.
  2. Ensure the currency drops and counts are performed in compliance with Nevada Gaming Control Minimum Internal Controls.
  3. Strap and balance cash for transfer to Cage for Table Games and Poker Count as summarized on Master Games Summary.
  4. Strap and balance cash for transfer to Cage for Slots Count as summarized on Slot Drop Cash Verification and Transfer Form. Transfer cash and voucher drops recorded on currency sorting machine to IGT Slot Accounting system.
  5. Maintain counted/redeemed vouchers identified by count day for a minimum of three weeks prior to shredding, unless extended retention is requested by Accounting due to any system or audit issues.
  6. Track and order all supplies required to efficiently run the daily operations of the count room.
  7. Preparation of the count room work schedule in compliance with Gaming Control Minimum Internal Controls.
  8. Secure count room and account for keys.
  9. Monitor and maintain all equipment/tables that are used in the operation of count room function.
  10. Ability to perform limited repairs of count room equipment.
  11. Observe safety policies and procedures including but not limited to safe lifting, use of ear plugs, use of properly working machinery.
  12. Must be able to properly and safely use equipment used during the daily operations of the count room including but not limited to the currency sorting machine, calculators, validator carts, jet sorts, etc.
  13. Other related duties as assigned.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Directly supervises up to 5 team members, with supervisory duties including training, assigning and directing work, assisting with performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining team members, addressing complaints and resolving problems, and creating schedules to ensure proper coverage.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including fire and safety regulations.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required. Minimum two years of Count Room experience required, with some level of supervision preferred.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Nevada Gaming Control Board registration required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to effectively communicate in English.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

 

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must have Microsoft Office experience and basic computer skills.

 

MACHINERY USED

BPS or Glory Bill Counter, Jet-Sort machine, 10-key, multi-line phone.
