more strategic, contemporary function that supports the growth of our company. In

accordance with this growth, we are now hiring a Director, HR- Operations & Engineering to

support our 7,000+ employees across 18 plants throughout the US.

 

Position Summary:

The Director, HR- Operations & Engineering is a key member of the Business HR Leadership

team, responsible for developing the people strategy that enables Pella’s Operations & Engineering Talent Advantage. This role will take the lead on aligning business strategies with Human Resources strategies. In this role, you will create positive and effective partnerships across

business and HR teams to develop and drive scalable HR solutions that deliver value and exceed business objectives.

 

Key Accountabilities:

• Advance people strategy in other areas, such as performance management,

organizational efficiency and design, total rewards, employee engagement,

inclusion, and diversity.

• Coach and develop members of the Operations & Engineering business HR team, while setting

prioritized goals and establishing metrics to measure growth and performance of

the team.

• Drive great employee experiences, which includes employee engagement and

retention efforts through the design and execution of initiatives that foster an

inclusive work environment.

• Leverage strong organizational, business, and financial acumen while providing

strategies to executive business leaders on all Talent Advantage initiatives.

• Partner with Plant leaders to assess current and future organizational needs and

develop strategies to address capability, skill, and critical role succession gaps.

• Produce results by inspiring people, modeling Pella values, developing others, and

ensuring a productive work environment.

• Provide business input to HR Centers of Excellence (COE) to help develop and

execute an effective HR strategy.

• Serve as the trusted advisor for the Business HR organization, leading the

development of the Operations & Engineering people strategy, and ensuring the strategy is

consistent and aligned with company-wide business and functional priorities.

• Understand the organizational health of Operations & Engineering while translating data and

insights into solution-oriented actions.

 

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organization development, or related field.

Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

• 10-15 years of progressive, strategic HR experience. Manufacturing and union

experience required.

• Ability to build strong, mutually beneficial relationships across an organization to

achieve results through capability, credibility, and influence.

• Demonstrated experience leveraging data and insights to drive actions that enable

positive business outcomes.

• Effective communication & collaboration skills at all levels of an organization,

including executive management.

• Proven HR leadership experience with the ability to influence and drive change at

the functional and organizational level as a strategic business partner.

• Strong business acumen with knowledge of how profitability is achieved, who the

business serves, and how the business differentiates itself in the market to give

context to HR policies and practices.
