The Assistant Clothing Supervisor provides an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple. This role assists the supervisor in overseeing and participating in the laundering, mending, and generally caring for the clothing and linens used in the temple according to First Presidency standards. This position is a lead role that provides guidance and direction to other employees, volunteers, and service missionaries working in the Temple.

This role typically reports to a Clothing Supervisor or Temple Recorder. 

Responsibilities

  • Assists with scheduling and inventory management, or other tasks delegated by the Clothing Supervisor
  • Assists with training laundry employees and volunteers as assigned
  • Operates commercial laundry equipment; prepares clothing and linens for use within the temple; may include sorting, washing, drying, hanging, pressing, folding, and assembling items needed by patrons, workers, and others who enter the temple   

  • Provides prompt and courteous service to Church workers and patrons who enter the laundry
  • Keeps the laundry area clean, well-organized, and free of safety hazards
  • Implements safety policies and procedures for the laundry
  • Uses computer resources to access training and communication tools
  • Ensures all supervisory duties are completed during the Supervisor's absence

Qualifications

Required

  • Two years of related experience (laundry, customer service, supervisory etc.)
  • Ability to work as a team with a diverse group of volunteers and staff and independently in an industrial laundry environment
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Warm and welcoming customer service skills
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including on Saturdays and holidays, with flexible hours in the morning, afternoon, and evening
  • Be able to lift 30lbs. (13.6 kg.), stand for long periods, bend, kneel, stoop, pull, push, and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced and meticulous work environment

 

Preferred

  • Have experience in clothing or laundry service, or a related area
