HEALTH RECORD TECHNICIAN
FLSA: NON-EXEMPT
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Process an average of 115 documents per day with 99% accuracy.
- Scan medical and dental patient records, ensuring they are maintain in databases for SCHC centers.
- Prioritize and immediately scan records requiring urgent attention.
- Adhere to strict HIPAA guidelines to maintain confidentiality.
- Monitor and manage the Medical Records Bucket.
- Sort, scan, and assign incoming mail efficiently.
- Address discrepancies or issues with records and take corrective action as needed.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the centers.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Strong organizational skills to manage and classify large volumes of patient records accurately.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure the completeness and accuracy of documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with healthcare providers, patients, and staff.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Effective multitasking, time management, and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines while maintaining efficiency and accuracy.
- Adaptability to new technologies, software, and changing healthcare regulations.
- Ability to use office equipment, including computers, copy machines, fax machines, telephones, calculators, and more.
- Proficiency in typing and data entry for efficient record updates.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to travel to various center locations as required.
