The Sportsbook Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day Sportsbook operations. This role will assist the Sportsbook Manager in ensuring the Sportsbook is operating effective and efficiently. The Sportsbook Shift Supervisor should help the Sportsbook Manager ensure staffing levels in the Sportsbook are adequately maintained to meet business volumes and assist with issues and incidents as they occur. This role will ensure staff is knowledgeable and follows company internal controls, policies and procedures. This position requires direct supervision of all departmental employees which include training and evaluating. This position assumes all administrative aspects of the Sports Lounge. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of the Seneca Gaming Corporation’s policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.    Responsible to work in conjunction with the Sportsbook Manager in the supervision of personnel and efficient operation of the Sportsbook at one of three properties.
2.    Train all employees on the sports betting systems and be able to assist in betting transactions as business requires.
3.    Manage the retail employees, including but not be limited to shift rotation, training, achieving turnover targets and ensuring an excellent customer experience.
4.    Responsible for the operation of the retail sportsbook and implementing the retail sports betting strategy set by the executive team.
5.    Maintains betting counters and operational areas; ensures a clean and professional image; ensures betting supplies, daily sports sheets, racks and materials are maintained and up-to-date.
6.    Provide guidance and explain wagering rules, betting lines, bet types and any sports betting queries to guests as needed.
7.    Work with third party sportsbook supplier to manage the risk of the retail book.
8.    Monitor compliance with payout procedures at the betting counters to ensure that proper amounts are being paid to customers.
9.    Handle customer and employee disputes that may arise and settle disputes in a manner that expresses excellent customer service as well as ensuring the best interest of Seneca Gaming Corporation is considered at all times.
10.    Assist the Security Department in warning or removing persons from the Sportsbook who are causing a disturbance.
11.    Assist with the execution of marketing promotions and activities in support of guest service
12.    Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
13.    Maintain a current understanding of all policy and guidelines regarding information security including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.  Understand and comply with all information security policies and procedures at all times.
14.    Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons and communicates in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times.  Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers and staff.
15.    Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
16.    Must complete all required SGC Training programs within nine (9) months from commencement of employment.
17.    Perform other duties as assigned.
18.    Duties, responsibilities, requirements and expectations pertaining to this job are subject to change as needed.  Hours are determined by a 24-hour schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Experience:
1.    Must be 18 years of age or older upon employment.
2.    High school diploma or its equivalency required
3.    One (1) year of successful Sportsbook dual rate supervisory experience preferred.
4.    Must have in-depth knowledge of the gaming industry and betting process
5.    Must be able to explain wagering to guests
6.    Must understand sports betting and sportsbook operations
7.    Prior supervisory experience required
8.    Handles money with accuracy, accepts bets, makes change, pays winners and balances cash bank
9.    Must be an experienced, results-oriented and hands-on professional with a clean work record
10.    Must demonstrate leadership, fairness and sensibility to the customers and employees
11.    Must possess ability to instill a sense of pride and personal responsibility in subordinate employees
12.    Must possess an understanding of legal ramifications and implications of various employee and customer actions

Language Skills and Reasoning Ability:
1.    Must possess excellent communication skills.
2.    Ability to write and speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
3.    Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the customers and employees.
4.    Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner within the specified guidelines of the Players Club Representative & Marketing Shift Manager position.

Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
1.    Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the Casino for extended periods of time.
2.    Must have excellent hearing abilities.
3.    Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with customers, management, employees and members of the business community in all situations.
4.    Must be able to lift and carry up to forty (40) pounds.
 

Salary Starting Rate:

$19.24

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
 

Each position has varying minimum qualifications. In the absence of fully qualified candidates, some requirements may be waived.
