This role manages the day-to-day operations of the inventory management and purchasing of the Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab. This role works closely with the Purchasing Dept to monitor expenditure on equipment and supplies for these labs.

Job Description

Job Specific Competencies

  • Manages the implementation, utilization, and maintenance of the perpetual inventory system (POU) to ensure accurate capture of replenishment and patient charge transactions
  • Develops proficiency in all areas of inventory with Workday, POU and McKesson
  • Ensure POU items have the appropriate barcodes, ensure items are cross referenced in the Workday system, rotate stock to ensure no out-of-date stock on hand and react appropriately to all critical point messages in Workday
  • Performs inventory management for the Cath/EPS lab.  Evaluates appropriate Min/Max levels, reviews Min/Max for storeroom stock daily. Counts par level areas (POU)areas according to schedule.  Processes returns per approved policy.
  • Participates in annual inventory count/audit.
  • Works with Biomedical department to ensure all equipment is properly tagged, tested and functioning.  .
  • Assists the Directors of Surgical Services, Nurse Manager and the Purchasing Dept. with special projects, including product/vendor evaluation, investigation of comparative pricing, pursuit of consignment and discount opportunities, negotiations and selections.
  • Communicates effectively with all sales representatives, while maintaining professional relationships and controlling vendor activity in the Department.
  • Works with Clinical Resources on all Cath/EPS Lab Supply cost management projects
  • Maintains effective communication with all parties involved in the operations of the Cath/EPS labs
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by manager.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least two years’ experience in inventory management/control, preferably in a critical care unit, Cath Lab or EPS Lab preferred.
