Duties
The purpose of this position is to assist the Outdoor Adventure Manager with managing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating a diverse year round recreation and adventure programs. This program involves organizing, publicizing and administering a wide range of activities, operations, trips, tours, and facility operations. These operations include outdoor adventure programs and activities, two recreational pools, a 44 space famcamp , equipment rental, resale operation, and RV storage lot operation. Performs managerial duties when the manager is out of the facility and/or on leave. Serves as facility manager. Supervises the equipment rental operation and ensures safe and reliable equipment is maintained year-round. Assists in the development of periodic programs, executes annual budgets requirements, helps account for all funds and transactions, and helps maintain financial audit trail. Manages a specialty resale operation, helps maintain equipment records, supervises staff and may be responsible to execute disciplinary action upon request. Maintains financial records through Services Agency Information System (SAIS). Updates staff time keeping through time and attendance software (SETS). Makes purchases using the NAF purchasing card. Uses and maintains staff competency in RecTrac. Interacts with customers and solves customer disputes. Ensures staff are up to date on all required training. Develop, implement and record an operational risk management program to ensure safety to staff, volunteers and participants. Routinely evaluates the effectiveness of the programs. Assists in establishing and scheduling the annual events, programs and activities. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have two (2) or more years of responsible supervisory experience and experience in dealing with customers. Must have knowledge of equipment, rules and procedures used in the operation of outdoor activities. Knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations is desirable but not required. Must have knowledge of financial and physical resources. Must be able to develop and execute budgets. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include nights, weekends and holidays. Must have a valid driver's license.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
