The Housing Repair Technician provides repair and upkeep services in residential hall bedrooms, lounges, and kitchens areas. The schedule is flexible with work performed Monday-Friday between 8:00 and 5:00.
Duties/Responsibilities
This position is responsible for minor repairs, and special projects in all residential halls. General duties include but are not limited to:
Repair
Perform routine inspection, removal, maintenance, and repair of furniture in residential hall rooms and lounges to ensure functionality and safety.
Assist with the organization and upkeep of the furniture repair shop, including managing tools, maintaining inventory of replacement parts, and ensuring work areas are clean and operational.
Window Blinds
Measure, purchase, and install window blinds across resident halls.
Repair as needed.
Maintain inventory.
Dry Erase and Bulletin Boards
Measure, procure, install, and repair dry-erase and bulletin boards throughout residence halls, ensuring proper placement and functionality.
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
H.S. Diploma
Previous experience in a related maintenance role
Prior experience with small carpentry repairs, work order systems, identifying and requesting replacement parts
Required Licenses & Certifications:
Driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Have an understanding of basic power and hand tools
Ability to perform and understand routine and complex repairs
Be capable to lift 25 pounds
Work independently
Maintain strong organizational skills
Flexible and reliable
Have a strong work ethic
Attention to detail
