About the Department
Position Summary
Performs general maintenance and repair work to ensure City buildings and properties are safe, clean, and functional. Work involves electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and related maintenance tasks under general supervision.
Position Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform minor electrical repairs (e.g., replace bulbs, ballasts, switches, receptacles).
• Maintain plumbing systems including toilets, sinks, faucets, and drains.
• Service HVAC units by changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing belts.
• Conduct general repairs including painting, roofing, locks, caulking, and minor construction.
• Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers, replace flags, hang pictures, and install blinds.
• Assist with janitorial tasks and special events as needed.
• Complete daily work logs and documentation.
• Maintain building exteriors, including snow and ice removal.
• Respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in on-call rotation.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications
• Education: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1–2 years of building or property maintenance preferred.
• Licenses: Valid Oklahoma driver’s license required.
Other Qualifications
This position is classified as safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations and the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act. As a safety-sensitive employee, you are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is included in the testing panel. Possession of a medical marijuana card does not exempt an employee from testing requirements or disciplinary action for a positive result.
