Job Summary:
The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is seeking a mission-oriented Scientific Affairs Coordinator with exceptional organizational and communication skills to join the Scientific Affairs team. The Scientific Affairs Coordinator will provide administrative support for the IASLC’s member-led committees and other scientific projects as assigned. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to communicating with and coordinating meetings for IASLC members, collecting and organizing documents, maintaining detailed records related to scientific projects, and effectively managing project priorities as well as day-to-day tasks.
This nonsupervisory, exempt position is based in our downtown Denver office on a hybrid work schedule. This position is not eligible for sponsorship or relocation assistance.
Essential Functions:
- Support the administrative needs of assigned projects including scheduling calls and arranging meetings, taking detailed minutes, drafting meeting summaries, creating reports, circulating documents, tracking information, record keeping, and any other tasks as assigned.
- Provide exceptional member service and overall support to IASLC members, partners and stakeholders through proactive communication and assisting in timely resolution of questions and problems.
- Diligently track contracts and legal documents for edits and signatures. Work with IASLC staff, IASLC and external stakeholders to revise legal documents when necessary and meticulously track and maintain digital and paper records.
- Support coordination of in-person meetings related to scientific projects and committees, including keeping updated lists of meeting attendees, facilitating travel reimbursement, and communicating with the IASLC Conferences team.
- Monitor shared general email boxes and serve as the initial point of contact for member inquiries and requests, delivering prompt, clear, and accurate written responses and ensuring exceptional customer/member service and support.
- Proactively implement organizational and project management tools and software to increase work efficiency and standardize departmental processes and workflows.
- Work collaboratively within the Scientific Affairs team and with all IASLC departments to provide pertinent information about the status of scientific projects and committees.
- Demonstrate an interest in strengthening understanding of thoracic cancer to facilitate more effective communication in discussions with IASLC members.
- Actively support and demonstrate IASLC core values.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support programs (no more than 1-2 times per year).
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- A strong commitment to the mission of IASLC and compassion for those living with a lung cancer diagnosis.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in an administrative support role or healthcare or academic administration.
- Demonstrated proficiency in prioritizing, organization, and time management with high attention to detail and ability to efficiently manage multiple assignments in a dynamic environment.
- Strong customer service skills, high degree of responsiveness, and ability to communicate effectively with senior medical professionals.
- Proficiency in using technology such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, virtual meeting platforms, and project management software with ability to learn additional software quickly and effectively.
- Professional level of literacy (read/write/oral) in English language.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. No relocation available.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally in support of IASLC business needs, as requested (no more than 1-2 times per year).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work experience in a nonprofit, scientific, medical, research or academic organization.
- Graduate degree in a scientific, public health, or healthcare field.
- Interest and/or work experience in scientific research and scientific project management.
- Previous experience working with international constituents and multicultural sensitivity.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit at computer workstation for extended periods.
- Ability to lift/move 25-40 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally to IASLC meetings as required.

Compensation: $57,000-61,000 annually commensurate with related experience.
