Starting Wage: $20.00/hour
Shift: Day Shift
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 10:00am - 6:00pm
Typical Day in the Role:
This position is responsible for receiving and distributing materials to inventory and/or other internal locations. Packages and ships finished materials according to the customer's specifications and guidelines.
- Receipt of Materials
- Efficiently receives and distributes materials.
- Timely Shipments
- Efficiently picks and packs customer orders for shipment, while ensuring on time deliveries.
- Safe Workplace
- Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Conducts operations in compliance with Inland safety policy.
- Efficient Workplace
- Transports orders to delivery and shipping locations with material handling equipment.
- Inspects and performs minor maintenance on equipment. Conducts physical inventories as required.
- Accurate Transactions
- Ensures correct quantity and product is loaded, shipped, or received.
- Repacks and weighs any orders that require such handling.
- Records appropriate data in ERP system.
- Contacts and coordinates freight pick up with vendors.
- Supports and communicates with Sales and Operations as to the status of their job completion.
- Maintains and orders additional shipping supplies.
- Productivity Measurements Met
- Meets standards for productivity and supports new process and procedures for increased productivity levels.
- Is trained and follows all Inland policies while working with hazardous waste.
Essential skills and experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree required
- Valid driver license with good driving record
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of shipping programs required.
- Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision required.
Work Environment:
- Operates in a demanding, fast-paced, people-oriented manufacturing environment with frequent changes and interruptions, and multiple project assignments.
- Works with a variety of people including vendors, customers, employees, managers, and executives.
Physical Requirements
- Walk, sit, bend, stoop, push, pull and stand; lift 100 pounds
- Visual acuity corrected to 20/40.
