What will I Do?
You will work for one of Utah’s most recognizable sports + entertainment brands, with a great team, creating lasting memories for our guests and fans!
The Vice President of Finance is accountable for the Financial Planning and Analysis aspects of the platform, including: Megaplex Theatres, Salt Lake Bees, Real Salt Lake, Utah Royals, Real Monarchs, Real Training Academy, Big League Utah and the Miller Sports and Entertainment management company. The role is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, internal and external reporting, financial modeling, financial strategy, treasury, presentations to management and development of best practices. The Vice President of Finance champions the company’s Mission and Vision and models the company Values.
The position will:
- Protect the moral, legal, and financial assets and wellbeing of the company.
- Exemplify the company values of Stewardship, Integrity, Hard Work, and Service
- Strive to achieve the company’s mission of Enriching Lives and the company’s vision of being the best place in town to work and do business.
- Partner with the CFO on all operational and strategic issues as they arise
- Lead and manage the FP&A team with a focus on development
- Manage the annual budget process from start to finish, including:
- Create a calendar of key dates, deadlines and reviews
- Create budget templates that are easy for presidents and department heads to complete
- Work with Presidents, Departments Heads and the CFO on all aspects of the budget
- Create a system that allows the budget to be simplified
- Track against budget on a monthly basis and report to management
- Build and manage a platform-wide cash flow forecast and report quarterly capital call requirements
- Monitor debt covenants and ensure that the company meets all requirements
- Manage the monthly forecast process
- Using the monthly results prepared by accounting, and in collaboration with the Accounting department, create a monthly review process that ensures the Presidents and CFO can review financial results by business day 8
- Manage capital requests, budget accordingly, and provide leverage
- Develop performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction
- With the Accounting department, ensure that the successful implementation of a new accounting ERP
- As requested, review acquisition, development, and divestment opportunities
- Review contracts and leases to ensure alignment with company objectives
- All other tasks as assigned

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Master’s degree in accounting or finance or MBA, preferred
- Great communication and presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with multiple teams
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in progressive roles in industry or accounting
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel; this is a hands-on financial modeling position
- Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screening
