Job Description

Under general supervision, performs the installation, maintenance and repair of the City's wastewater plant equipment. The selected candidate will perform preventative maintenance and trouble-shoot on plant equipment and lift stations. The incumbent will repair and adjust equipment to meet specifications and technical codes. The Plant Mechanic will maintain life station pumps, controls, panels, floats, transducers and valves. Bar screens, clarifier drives, gear boxes, blowers, hoisting devices and the degritter will also be maintained. A daily log of work is kept. The incumbent will drive and operate a crane truck as well as follow safety rules and regulations. A High School diploma or equivalent; AND two years experience in wastewater plant maintenance operations; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Class C Wastewater Operator license and a valid Texas Drivers License is required.
