About the Department

The purpose of this position is to primarily perform custodial duties to help maintain cleanliness and a safe environment for the customers. This includes all facilities and grounds. This position will also assist at the Entrance Station by handling forms of payment, and assisting customers, and with general maintenance such as removing garbage, changing light bulbs and air filters, etc. as needed.

Job Duties:
Performs custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of facilities.
Perform maintenance of interior and exterior of facilities.
Assist in upkeep of site grounds and facilities.
Assists administrative staff in the collection of appropriate fees from visitors.
- Provides a high level of customer service and assists customers with inquiries.
Assists with maintaining grounds such as mowing grass, collecting litter, removing limbs and debris, maintenance, and emptying trash receptacles.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: Tickfaw State Park, Springfield, LA
Work Schedule: State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, that can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park.
Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional.
Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Park Technician A, B, or C, depending on the qualifications of the selected applicant.
