General Description:
The Group Controller will provide direct support to the Director of Accounting and be responsible for the accounting and reporting for several Tyonek entities, supporting other month-end activities and special projects.
Duties:
- Monthly financial statement close work completed in accordance with closing schedule
- Account analysis and reconciliation on all balance sheets accounts for several entities to ensure accurate
- Active participation and contribution in all required audits, cost reporting and tax filings; audit, cost report and tax return lists to be completed by established deadlines.
- Active participation and contribution in the annual fiscal budget process and financial projections throughout fiscal year.
- Ensures all accounting transactions and accounting information are compliant with GAAP and internal policies and procedures.
- Support completion of all government required reporting, such as U.S. Census Surveys, Corporate Tax Returns, etc.
- Understanding of complex indirect pool structures and Incurred Cost Submissions.
- Understanding of sales & use tax/property tax reporting. Ensure accurate tax accounting and financial reporting.
- Document clear processes and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a minimum of seven (7) years of relevant government contracting accounting experience.
- Deltek Costpoint experience preferred
- Knowledge of FAR/DFARS,SCA, DCAA compliance required
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with attention to critical details
- Excellent computer skills with high proficiency in MS Office applications
- Excellent written and oral skills
- Works well in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment with some requirement for irregular hours
- Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
- Ability to meet deadlines within a critical schedule
