I. JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Nursing provides support to the clinical operations and other agency leaders to help meet positive patient outcomes. In the absence of the Director of Patience Care Services, the Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible to oversee the day-to-day clinical operations. This role is assigned to specific agencies and may include the opportunity to assist other agencies within the organization, as needed or requested.

Pay Range: $170,000 - $190,000/annual

II. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • All duties and responsibilities shall be performed as set forth in our established policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to and assures compliance with Code of Conduct, agency policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards as promulgated by Federal, State, and accrediting agencies or regulating bodies. This includes, but is not limited to, Department of Health Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other applicable regulatory agencies.
  • May need to provide direct patient care as defined in State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Works with RNs, Therapist, MSW, CHHA’s, dieticians in aiding to implement current discipline practice following a comprehensive assessment and the plan of care.
  • Directs all disciplines in providing accurate and timely documentation of patient services to reflect the plan of care.
  • Assesses and provides the agency field staff with education and information pertinent to diagnosis and development of patient plan of care.
  • Participates in coordination of home health services, appropriately reporting the identified needs to the interdisciplinary group. Examples include Home Health Aides, OT, PT MSW, ST or Dietician.
  • Participates in personal, professional growth and development. Also participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Patient Care Services.
  • Responsible for scheduling visits for all staff.
  • Review order charts for quality assurance to ensure they are billable.
  • Responsible for reviewing additional documentation review (ADR) with the help of the Director of Patient Care Services.
  • Ensure 10% of all patient charts are reviewed on a quarterly basis.

III. JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Minimum three years nursing experience within the community health/home health or medical/surgical experience is preferred.
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the State of California.
  • Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
  • Ability to market and deal tactfully with customers and the community.
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Follows written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge able in the use of computers, email, Excel and Word.
