Position Summary
The Manager of Partner Engagement and Business Development leads strategic initiatives to build, maintain, and optimize relationships with external partners, while managing internal health plan liaison teams. This role is responsible for driving business growth, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering high levels of satisfaction for both partners and members. The Manager will collaborate across departments to support organizational goals and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
External/Internal Partner Relationship Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for external and partners, including providers, facilities, and business development teams.

Develop, implement, and oversee engagement strategies to enhance partner satisfaction, network adequacy, and growth.

Negotiate and manage partnership agreements, ensuring compliance and mutual value.

Establish and maintain relationships to generate consistent admissions and business opportunities.
Internal Team Leadership

Manage and mentor health plan liaison teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Set clear goals, monitor performance, and provide coaching and feedback.

Ensure effective communication and operational excellence across teams.
Business Development & Strategic Growth

Identify and pursue new partnership opportunities aligned with organizational objectives.

Analyze market trends, partner performance, and business risks to inform strategic decisions.

Collaborate with senior management to set strategies, goals, and best practices for operational execution and value delivery.
Operational Oversight & Compliance

Oversee activities supporting network relationships, value-based contracting, plan enrollment, and member/provider support.

Ensure regulatory and contractual compliance, including correspondence management and reporting.

Achieve member and provider satisfaction goals and improvement programs.

Document and track partner and member communications, facility visits, and activities with accuracy and compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with internal departments (operations, compliance, finance, IT) to support partner and member needs.

Coordinate with facility leaders to support member needs and operational objectives.
Required Experience and Expertise
-
Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business, Management, or related field.
-
2+ years of leadership experience in healthcare settings (SNF, hospital, managed care, case management, or discharge planning).

Proven success in partner engagement, relationship management, and business development within healthcare or managed care.

Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and promote professional development.

Strong understanding of health plan operations, regulatory requirements (Medicare/Medicaid/Managed Care), and industry best practices.

Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
-
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess business risks and opportunities.

Technical and financial understanding of healthcare operations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Medicare Advantage risk adjustment programs.

Knowledge of CMS regulations regarding Medicare Advantage Plans.

Experience in healthcare sales or related market experience.
