The Major Account Manager – MSSP is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, prospecting, and securing new business opportunities with Managed Security Service Providers. This role involves a consultative sales approach, deep understanding of cybersecurity solutions, and the ability to build long-term strategic relationships with MSSP partners.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Lead Generation

  • Identify and qualify new MSSP prospects through outbound efforts, networking, and referrals.

  • Conduct market research to understand MSSP ecosystems and their client needs.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of MSSP opportunities.

2. Consultative Selling

  • Conduct discovery meetings to assess MSSP needs and pain points.
  • Present tailored cybersecurity solutions including EDR/XDR, vCISO services, compliance support, and infrastructure protection.
  • Lead product demos and technical presentations with support from engineering teams.

3. Relationship Management

  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with MSSP stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, helping MSSPs align offerings with end-customer security needs.
  • Coordinate joint go-to-market strategies and enablement sessions.

4. Sales Execution

  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from initial outreach to proposal, negotiation, and closing.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, engineering) to support MSSP onboarding and success.
  • Track and report sales activities and performance metrics in CRM systems.

5. Strategic Planning

  • Develop regional or vertical-specific MSSP strategies.
  • Execute account mapping and demand generation activities.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to refine sales tactics.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: 3+ years in B2B sales within MSP/MSSP environments; 1+ years selling to Tier 1 or Tier 2 MSSPs.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of cybersecurity solutions, IT infrastructure, and compliance standards (HIPAA, SOC 2, CMMC).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Tools: Proficiency in CRM systems and sales pipeline management.
