ANCC - Aquatic & Youth Programs Internship
Overview:
The Aquatic & Youth Programs Internship at Army Navy Country Club offers hands-on experience in recreation management, hospitality, and community engagement. Interns will gain valuable exposure to member relations, event coordination, budget tracking, and program logistics within a premier private club setting.
Key Focus Areas:
- Member Engagement & Outreach:
- Assist with communication and outreach initiatives to enhance awareness and participation in aquatics and youth programs.
- Support the development of member feedback tools and engagement strategies.
- Provide exceptional front-line service, ensuring members and guests receive 5 Star service.
- Event Planning & Logistics:
- Collaborate with staff to plan, organize, and execute seasonal aquatic and youth events, including swim meets, themed parties, and family nights.
- Coordinate event logistics such as setup, registration, signage, and on-site support.
- Contribute creative ideas for new events and program enhancements.
- Sports Camp Support:
- Assist in the daily operation of youth sports camp across property.
- Support instructors with activity setup, camper supervision, and transition management.
- Help ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants.
- Front Desk & Administrative Support:
- Greet members and guests, answer inquiries, and manage check-in.
- Maintain organized program files, attendance sheets, and event records.
- Support scheduling, communication, and registration processes for youth and aquatic programs.
- Day-Over-Day Budget Support:
- Assist in tracking daily program expenses and revenue.
- Support staff with budget reconciliation and reporting on aquatics and youth activities.
- Help identify opportunities for cost efficiency and resource optimization.
Learning Outcomes:
- Develop professional communication and leadership skills in a member-service environment.
- Gain practical experience in program coordination, event operations, and financial oversight.
- Learn the fundamentals of club operations, hospitality, and recreational program delivery.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Recreation Management, Hospitality, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of budgeting or financial tracking preferred.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- CPR and First Aid certification required.
