About the Department

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSTION
Under the general supervision of the Facilities Manager the Manager on Duty (MOD) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of parks and recreation facilities during their assigned shift. This role ensures the safety, efficiency, and positive experience of patrons and staff, serving as the primary point of contact for operational decisions, emergencies, and public inquiries.

Position Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as the on-site leader during assigned shifts, ensuring all operations run smoothly. 
• Monitor facility activities and staff performance, providing guidance and support as needed. 
• Respond promptly to emergencies, safety incidents, or conflicts, following department protocols. 
• Maintain communication with the Parks and Recreation Director, Assistant Director, Facility Manager and other relevant personnel regarding operational updates or issues. 
• Oversee the use and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and park areas. 
• Ensure compliance with department policies, safety regulations, and municipal codes. 
• Handle public inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a professional and courteous manner. 
• Document incidents, operational issues, and facility conditions as required. 
• Assist with staff assignments and coordination of programs and special events when needed.

Other Qualifications

This position is classified as safety-sensitive under the U.S. Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing regulations and the Oklahoma Standards for Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Act. As a safety-sensitive employee, you are subject to drug and alcohol testing, including random testing. Marijuana is included in the testing panel. Possession of a medical marijuana card does not exempt an employee from testing requirements or disciplinary action for a positive result.
