Description

The Loan Service Assistant is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of escrow accounts related to real estate loans. This includes monitoring and processing payments for property taxes, insurance premiums, and other escrowed items, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure taxes are current on all non-escrowed loans by July 15 (tax sales happen in August).
  • Prepare and submit tax information for each escrow account to the proper city and county collector annually by October 31.
  • Conduct daily maintenance for loan service department.
  • Complete daily loan advances, wired advances, participation wires, and wired payments.
  • Monitor escrow accounts for sufficient balances and ensure timely disbursement of property taxes, homeowner’s insurance, flood insurance, and other escrowed items.
  • Perform escrow account analyses and generate required annual escrow statements in compliance with RESPA regulations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding escrow accounts, payments, and disbursements.
  • Coordinate with insurance agents, tax authorities, and borrowers to resolve discrepancies or lapses in coverage.
  • Process escrow account adjustments, shortages, and overages.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all escrow transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Support audits and examinations by providing requested escrow documentation and reports.
  • Assist loan service with other duties as requested.

Qualifications


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business or finance preferred.
  • Banking experience preferred.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of RESPA, escrow regulations, and loan servicing practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with loan servicing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
