DescriptionThe IT Manager under the direction of the WLRC Medical IT Director is responsible for overseeing all technological operations and ensuring they align with the company’s goals and objectives. This includes managing network infrastructure, software systems, cybersecurity, fleet technology, and IT support. The IT Manager is responsible for providing reliable, secure, and efficient technological solutions to support all departments within the organization. The role is office based but also requires occasional working ambulance, company vehicles, garages or vehicle service bays, and offsite vendor facilities. The IT Manager will primarily support Medic One IT Operations but will serve as part of the WLRC Medical IT Team, cross covering, and providing support as needed to other IT team members across all WLRC Medical and its affiliates. Role and Responsibilities - Manage and perform all IT functions, including help desk support, system administration, and field technician duties.
- Develop and manage IT strategic plans aligned with company goals.
- Coordinate cross-department technology needs and ensure seamless communication between IT and operations.
- Serve as the primary contact for IT-related decisions and emergencies
- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and company hardware.
- Maintain and troubleshoot computer systems, printers, and communication devices.
- Manage network security, user access, and data integrity.
- Ensure uptime and reliability of key systems, including CAD, VoIP, and dispatch communication systems (if applicable).
- Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues.
- Implement and maintain firewalls, antivirus/MDR, and secure wireless technology.
- Regularly review system vulnerabilities and apply patches and security updates.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant data protection and privacy regulations (HIPAA, PCI, etc.).
- Conduct cybersecurity awareness training Research, recommend, and deploy new technologies that improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain all communication systems including email servers, VoIP, and mobile devices.
- Oversee cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS) and system integrations.
- Manage asset inventory, software licensing, and hardware lifecycle replacements.
- Coordinate and manage IT infrastructure and facility systems, including cabling, networking equipment (routers, switches, Peplink modems), tablets, access controls, camera systems, and the Traumasoft platform.
- Oversee help desk operations to ensure prompt resolution of technical issues.
- Provide support for all IT problems.
- Ensure system documentation and user guides are kept up to date.
- Assist in resolving help desk tickets and ensure that all tickets include detailed notes regarding troubleshooting steps and resolution.
- Create knowledgebase articles for the help desk after successfully discovering steps to remediate an issue that could recur again.
- Monitor satisfaction with IT services and implement improvements as needed.
- Lead and manage technology projects from concept to completion.
- Work with leadership to establish IT budgets, timelines, and priorities.
- Track and report on system uptime, performance metrics, and help desk activity.
- Prepare technology reports for leadership regarding infrastructure health, risk management, and cost savings.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party partners on major upgrades and service agreements.
Qualifications and Education Requirements- 19 years or older at time of hire
- Graduation from High School or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, cybersecurity, and enterprise software.
- Experience with system installations, configurations, and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and enterprise applications.
- Full-time position with occasional after-hours as needed with ability to flex time, may require evening or weekend work for system maintenance or emergency response
- Requires travel to all Medic One Stations located in AR and MO with potential travel to external vendor sites or facilities
- Sitting or standing for extended periods, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, or climbing as required to install, service, remove, relocate, or access varying equipment
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test.

- Ability to read, speak, and write English
Preferred Skills- A+, Network+, Security+ or other IT certifications strongly preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT management or a related leadership role is preferred.
