Finance Analyst I – Colorado Springs Airport
The City of Colorado Springs is ready to welcome a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join the Colorado Springs Airport team! As an Analyst I, you will perform a variety of entry-level financial, accounting, and analytical duties in support of Airport operations and capital projects. This includes preparing and submitting entries into the city’s financial ERP system, maintaining and reconciling financial records, analyzing airport expenditures and revenues, supporting grant management activities, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local funding requirements.
This is an entry-level role in the Analyst series designed to help you develop professional financial and analytical experience within a dynamic airport environment. Under close supervision, you will learn and apply City and departmental procedures while contributing to the fiscal integrity and operational success of the Colorado Springs Airport.
This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year, and any furloughs subsequently approved.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM; on-site
Hourly Salary: $29.13 - $34.97
As a Finance Analyst I, you will:
- Prepare and submit airport entries into the city’s financial ERP system.
- Monitor and research the status of airport payments and receipts
- Review financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established procedures and regulations.
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, financial reports, and supporting documentation using PeopleSoft and Microsoft Excel.
- Assist with reconciling ledgers, accounts, and statements across multiple funding sources.
- Collect, organize, and analyze financial data to identify trends and assist in budget and expenditure tracking.
- Support the preparation and monitoring of the Airport’s operating and capital improvement budgets.
- Help analyze expenditures and revenue to ensure effective use of funding and adherence to approved budgets.
- Help prepare grant applications and assist with budget setup, revisions, reporting, and close-out activities.
- Support the development of billing documentation, reimbursements, and audit materials for grant and matching fund programs.
- Research and interpret funding rules and guidelines under the direction of higher-level staff.
- Participate in creating and updating financial procedures, templates, and tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide general financial and administrative support to other members of the Airport Finance team as needed

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:- Basic principles and practices of accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Governmental accounting and reporting methods.
- Standard research techniques, data collection, and financial tracking procedures.
- Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Modern office methods, procedures, and equipment.
- Perform accurate and detailed financial and numerical work.
- Collect, organize, and analyze financial and operational data.
- Learn and apply City, State, and Federal policies and procedures related to municipal and airport finance.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, management, and external partners.
Position Duties
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related field such as finance, accounting, business administration, or public administration.
- One (1) year of full-time, professional financial or analytical experience.

Minimum Qualifications
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Experience in government, municipal, or airport finance or accounting.
- Experience with grant tracking, reporting, or auditing.
