Shoshone Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Manager to lead our Dietary Department. The Dietary Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service operations in accordance with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and established quality standards. This position ensures that meals are nutritious, safe, and satisfying, while maintaining efficiency and compliance across all dietary functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage all dietary staff, ensuring efficient and effective department operations.
  • Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Create and monitor department budgets, maintaining a cost-effective and high-quality food service program.
  • Oversee inventory management and plan purchases of food, supplies, and equipment based on forecasts and operational needs.
  • Participate in menu planning to meet patient preferences, dietary restrictions, and current nutritional standards.
  • Ensure all meals meet standards for quality, presentation, temperature, and timeliness.
  • Maintain safe food handling, storage, preparation, and sanitation practices in compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, registered dietitians (RDs), nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-specific dietary plans.
  • Review and document patient nutritional status and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Manage revenue-generating services within the department.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare food service management required.  
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.  
  • Knowledge of nutrition standards, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.  
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with outside vendors.
