Description
The Cattle Analyst is responsible for all cattle record keeping from the time the cattle arrive at the feedlot to the time they are shipped to the packer. This includes all receiving and owner/background information, feeding and veterinary record keeping, pen movements, deaths, shipments and final performance and financial information. The Cattle Analyst works very closely with the Feedlot The Cattle Analyst is responsible for all cattle record keeping from the time the cattle arrive at the feedlot to the time they are shipped to the packer. The Cattle Analyst works very closely with the Feedlot Manager, Cattle Manager, Feed Manager, and customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential
- Processes feed & vet charges daily
- Enters cattle receiving, shipments, and deaths daily
- Verify & complete cattle processing records
- Complete breakevens on all customer cattle
- Order medicine, enter medicine receivings
- Assist with the monthly inventory process & complete the bookkeeping for the inventory
- Complete weekly & monthly cattle reporting
- Maintain complete, up-to-date files of all regular cattle lots
- Send all needed cattle information to the customers
- Provide excellent customer service
Marginal
- Secondary receptionist as needed
- Back-up Scale Attendant
- Other tasks as required
Requirements
Qualifications
- Knowledge & ability to learn feedyard database system (Turnkey)
- Good Computer Skills
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Like to work with numbers
- Excellent Customer Service
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Flexibility & interest to learn all aspects of the feedlot industry
- Highly Organized
- Ability to work with little Supervision
- Good Problem-Solving Skills
