Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union is a not-for-profit, Member-owned, and locally operated financial institution serving the financial needs of its communities of Membership. We have 25 locations throughout East Tennessee and we serve more than 288,000 Members. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative:
Work closely with stakeholders to design and implement user-friendly reporting solutions.
Prepare and maintain application design documents which translate business requirements into viable solutions.
Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate business needs into data solutions.
Provide training and best practices to end-users to better understand the data available and to leverage Power BI and self-service analytics.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills through yearly training and skills maintenance.
Technical:
Perform all tasks necessary to ensure assigned projects are implemented in accordance with generally accepted best practices and security standards.
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources.
Implement data storage solutions using Microsoft OneLake, and Data Warehouses to optimize performance and accessibility.
Develop and maintain semantic data models, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security.
Build and optimize Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business intelligence needs.
Monitor and administer Fabric Capacity Metrics to optimize data infrastructure performance.
Maintain data quality and integrity, ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards.
Continuously improving data processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency
Implement security and other governance measures in Power BI.
Leverage Microsoft Purview for data governance and metadata management.
Information Security:
Conduct regularly scheduled code reviews and ensure all work adheres to the Credit Union’s best practices for security and performance.
Operationalize data governance frameworks to enforce policies, access controls, and regulatory compliance (NCUA, FFIEC, etc.).
Personal:
Follow all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulations.
Represent the Credit Union in a professional manner (including but not limited to appearance, behavior, and performance).
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Work cooperatively with others.
All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience – Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Fabric tools (Data Pipelines, OneLake, and Data Warehouses, etc.).
Hands-on experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), and Power BI Service.
Expertise in SQL and data modeling, with experience designing efficient and scalable data structures.
Ability to develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate).
Certifications preferred:
Microsoft DP-600 or DP-700 certification (Fabric Analytics Engineer or Data Analyst).
Microsoft PL-300 certification (Power BI Data Analyst).
Qualifications and Requirements – Individual must possess the knowledge, skills and ability required to execute the essential functions in a satisfactory manner.
Language – Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, and procedure manuals and use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.
Mathematical – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Computer –Knowledge of IT systems and networks. Ability to operate related computer applications including Word, Excel, and email. Proficient typing skills. Ability to operate other business equipment including adding machine, coin, and money counting machines and telephone.
