Please note, this is a part time role for 2.5 days a week, and will require flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Formed in 2015, Reed Wellbeing has expanded rapidly, developing, and delivering evidence-based lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that help people improve their health. Guided by psychologists, dietitians, physical activity experts and other specialists our local teams support people to make sustainable, positive behavioural changes using engaging and interactive interventions that address individuals’ needs.
What is the job is about?
Stop Smoking Coaches are critical to the successful delivery of Reed Wellbeing’s world class evidence-based health and wellbeing behavioural lifestyle interventions. Comprising of both group-based and one-to-one health and wellbeing interventions, the Stop Smoking Coach will be responsible for delivering a series of stop smoking appointments over a 12-week period with the intention of supporting a participant through their quit journey with behavioural support and pharmacotherapies.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Delivering the ‘Reed Wellbeing Stop Smoking’ Program and other elements of service in a manner that engages and interests all participants on a 1:2:1 and group basis.
- Capturing key metrics at different points in the participants’ journey i.e. monitoring and recording participants’ progress on their quit date.
- Liaising with professionals including GPs and primary care staff to promote and generate referrals to the service.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with:
Required skills and experience:
- REPs Level 3 Exercise Referral qualification or equivalent; or
- Level 3 qualification in health improvement or promotion or public health or equivalent (eg. City & Guilds Level 3 Health Trainer or equivalent); or
- Level 3 qualification in nutrition; or
- Level 3 Training qualification (eg. PTTLs/Award in Education & Training); or
- NCSCT Certificate in Assessment of Knowledge & Skills to become an accredited and registered Smoking Cessation Practitioner including the following areas smoking cessation, mental health, pregnancy and post-partum period, VBA and second-hand smoke.
- Driver licence and access to a car is essential
Willingness and flexibility to travel with access to own car to deliver programmes across designated region.
Willingness to undertake evening and weekend work as required.
- Experience of working with or facilitating diverse participant groups (e.g. pregnant smokers, smokers with mental illness, routine and manual workers, young people)
- Experience of/interest in working with individuals or groups to achieve behavioural or lifestyle change.
- Non-judgemental, professional
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience in using coaching skills to help individuals to improve their chances of quitting smoking
- Experience of using behavioural techniques to help individuals improve their chances of quitting smoking
- Fluency in community languages. Community languages may include: Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Somali, Vietnamese, Dari, Yoruba, Turkish, French, Spanish, Albanian, Arabic, Bengali, Farsi, Guajarati, Polish, Serbian and Greek (dependent on location of service delivery).
- An understanding of current guidelines and good practice for delivering stop smoking services (e.g. NCSCT National Standard Treatment Programme)
- An understanding of the lifestyle and behaviour challenges that can impact on a participant making necessary changes to bring about sustained health improvement (e.g. Stopping smoking, Weight loss, increased physical activity, reduction in alcohol intake).
