Reporting to the Physician Master Builder, the Physician Builder collaborates with fellow builders, Physician Design Leads (PDLs), and Clinical Informaticians to ensure that clinical content and tools within Connect Care support safe, effective, and efficient patient care.%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp;%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cp%3EThis role focuses on applying clinical knowledge to translate prescriber needs into meaningful CIS enhancements, including the development and maintenance of documentation tools, order sets, decision support, and other electronic workflows. Physician Builders help ensure that CIS design aligns with provincial standards and meets the day-to-day needs of clinicians.%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp;%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3E%3Cspan style=%22font-size: 14px;%22%3EResponsibilities / Accountabilities:%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp;%3C/span%3E%3C/strong%3E%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cp%3EIn this capacity, the Physician Builder is entrusted with the following responsibilities:%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp;%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3ESystem Build and Optimization:%3C/strong%3E%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cul type=%22disc%22%3E%0A%3Cli%3EParticipate in the design, build, testing, and validation of CIS tools such as order sets, documentation templates, and decision support alerts.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EApply Epic Physician Builder skills to support the development of safe, usable, and efficient clinical workflows.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3ECollaborate with Digital Health analysts and other informatics team members to deliver high-quality build products.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3C/ul%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3ECollaboration and Engagement:%3C/strong%3E%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cul type=%22disc%22%3E%0A%3Cli%3EWork with the CMIO office, PDLs, and operational teams to understand clinical needs and incorporate feedback into system improvements.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EParticipate in working groups, project teams, and builder forums to support Connect Care enhancement efforts.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAssist with communication and rollout of CIS updates to clinical stakeholders.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3C/ul%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3ETraining and Certification:%3C/strong%3E%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cul type=%22disc%22%3E%0A%3Cli%3EObtain and maintain Epic Physician Builder certification through the required course(s), including initial and ongoing training as needed.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3EEngage in professional development activities, including participation in user feedback reviews and build review meetings.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3C/ul%3E%0A%3Cp%3E%3Cstrong%3EGovernance and Standards:%3C/strong%3E%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/p%3E%0A%3Cul style=%22margin-top: 0in;%22 type=%22disc%22%3E%0A%3Cli%3EAlign build activities with Connect Care governance decisions and provincial clinical standards.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli%3ESupport change management efforts by participating in readiness and implementation activities, under the guidance of the Master Builder.%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3Cli class=%22MsoNormal%22 style=%22line-height: 115%; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo4; tab-stops: list .5in;%22%3EConform to all Builder standards and procedures, as defined by the Builder Committee and the Clinical Informatics Standards and Quality Committee.%3Cbr%3E%3Cbr%3E%26nbsp;%3Co:p%3E%3C/o:p%3E%3C/li%3E%0A%3C/ul%3E

Qualifications and Required Attributes:

  • A seasoned physician with a deep understanding of large-scale transformational change.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of successful program management.
  • Clear communication and presentation skills, coupled with a pragmatic problem-solving approach.
  • Experience in clinical operations and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and medical communities.
  • Proficiency in aligning business practices with organizational objectives and strategies.
  • A visionary who can contribute to the innovation, integration, and consistency of patient-centered clinical care.

 
Reporting Relationship:

The practitioner will report to the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO).

  

FTE: Positions may have a variable FTE between 0.2-0.4 for a total of 0.8 FTE available.

  

Remuneration: Remuneration is in accordance with CMO Policy 01-01.
